Inventing New Ideas With Lucid Dreaming

One of the most misunderstood and brilliant inventors of all time was said to lucid dream. Nikola Tesla was able to visualize his inventions in his mind in stunning detail. He could build an invention from his mind in his workshop and every part, every dimension would be exact to the millimeter.

He was overshadowed by Thomas Edison, a contemporary, who to this day is more well known. Tesla’s inventions actually were more impressive and Edison knew it. Tesla invented an alternating electricity system, while Edison tried to dissuade the public, stating alternating current was dangerous and foolish.

Of course, Edison, was known to have (re)invented the light bulb and he didn’t do so until famously having tried 10 000 times. If anything, the man was relentlessly persistent, a truly admirable virtue. Edison was a religious note taker. This is how he progressed and was able to keep track of his progress with his inventions and knowledge. He would note down all his ideas and due to an effective filing system, he didn’t have to write the same things twice, or lose track of what he wrote.

Tesla on the other hand, seemed to have a creativity that was almost out of this world. He could send electricity wireless, through the air. When he developed plans for an invention dubbed the ‘deathray’, he recognized that the governments weren’t ready for this type of technology and made sure his full plans weren’t made available for any country. He worked on the technology of remote controls, radio transmitting and particle beams. The man had a vision. One of the most amazing ideas was to channel electricity from the earths atmosphere to any spot in the world.

“It was known that his solutions came in his dreams

In sum, this man had an imagination far ahead of his time. The man of dreams makes a strong case for the merits of dreaming and especially lucid dreaming. Lucid dreaming gives you both the platform to discover the undiscovered and the ability to interact with that dreamworld. What better way to tap into your creative genius that to become an active, conscious participant of your own dreamworld.

“My method is different. I do not rush into actual work. When I get a new idea, I start at once building it up in my imagination, and make improvements and operate the device in my mind. When I have gone so far as to embody everything in my invention, every possible improvement I can think of, and when I see no fault anywhere, I put into concrete form the final product of my brain.” - Nikola Tesla
